The Maharashtra state government has recently decided with HTMS, Highway Traffic Management System to install 370 cameras in 93 locations along the Mumbai-Pune expressway for efficient monitoring and prompt action against traffic violation and overspeeding. This will be set up along the 94 KMS long expressway and is expected to complete by September.

This system will regulate and enable control over the speed of vehicles travelling on the busy highway. It will also include the name of the owner and contact details number. Motorists will be more careful if challans are issued immediately.
