The 2023 Ather 450S will ditch the existing touchscreen display from the 450 and 450X range and instead get an all-new non-touch LCD display. While the touch function will not be present in the new 450S display, it is expected to have minimum impact on the features and the scooter’s functionality. Here is what the new-gen LCD display looks like in the Ather 450S, which is due to launch on 3rd August. To make it cost effective, the design and features are reduced. This includes the touchscreen unit, which is smaller now. The scooter gets a smaller battery pack 3kwh, which gets a range of 115kms, instead of the 146kms range on the 450X which has a bigger 3.7kWh battery pack. While the peak torque of 26Nm and top speed of 115kmph generated from the 6.4kW motor remains the same.
Once launched, the Ather 450S will rival the Ola S1, TVS iQube S, Bajaj Chetak, and other e-scooters in the same segment. While this would be a welcome addition to the brand’s portfolio and attract more buyers looking for an electric two-wheeler, we can still see some room for a slightly larger scooter as well.
