Different Aspects Of Seasonal Riding

Riding is a passion, a zest, an incomparable feeling of joy that can’t be measured. A rider is always enthusiastic about riding. The time, weather, conditions, or any situation cannot make a rider questionable about his or her journey. But the weather conditions have to be given a check before one gets set for a ride. Every weather has their own pros, cons, and various measures to protect themselves from the adverse effects of the season they are riding in.

So let’s check out the circumstances of every weather for riding and their impact on a rider.

  • RIDING IN SUMMERS

Riding in summers is the least scenario to be spotted. Bikers do not opt for summers much for a long ride. The quickie rides are more preferable during this season. Summers can be irritating and uncomfortable for both- the rider as well as the bike. There are many precautions riders have to take for themselves as well as their machine. One needs to stay hydrated. This is the most vital and NOT TO BE NEGLECTED fact. A rider needs to carry enough water for his or her journey. There may be times at the journey where one may not get any source of drinking water. To avoid such situations carrying water or keeping water stored is a safer option. Riders can store water into various carry bottles or camel bags. Coconut water is another good source of vitamin C. one can also go in for this liquid. Having coconut water while regular breaks rehydrate your body and make you feel fresh for the journey ahead.

Another important aspect to keep in mind while riding in summers is, ‘the way of clothing’. Though it may be the season of scorching heat, it doesn’t permit a rider to wear inappropriate clothes. A rider must be in his proper riding gear while riding in summers too. This comforts the biker and motivates him or her to carry on the journey for long. A biker should opt for layer clothing. Starting from a thin cloth base to the thicker clothing option is a perfect way to shelter one’s body from the windy early morning breeze to the high temperatures of the noon. Each layer can be deducted according to the biker’s preference. Taking regular intervals is also necessary for the rider as well as his or her ride. Taking a break from the long and strenuous journey not only rejuvenates a rider’s mind and body but also allows the bike to cool down too. This makes the journey more enjoyable and in a positive spirit to continue it ahead.

A rider should avoid the journey when the sun is exactly in its full stretch. The time between noons 12 to 2 is the time one should avoid riding. This allows a biker to take a break and also get protected from the most uncomfortable part of the day. One can have a power nap in this time span and let the sun cool down a bit to start the journey refreshed again. One also needs to take proper care of the machine as well. The tires must be checked, the condition of the helmet and many other aspects need to be taken care of while a ride in the summer.

  • RIDING IN MONSOONS

Riding in itself is an adrenaline rush for bikers if given a choice a bike ride in monsoon is just like a cherry on the cake for a biker. Riders do not step back to ride out in the monsoon. They enjoy the vibe of cool atmosphere, the greenery of nature around, the lush scenic views, and the foggy weather on the cliffs. All these add on to the beauty of a blissful ride. But as we know a coin has two sides, along with the fun fact there are cons of riding in monsoons as well. One should take care of the proper clothing while riding during a heavy downpour. Proper raincoats, boots, full face helmets, and various other gears while riding in rains should be taken care of. A proper raincoat to avoid letting water seep in should be purchased. A helmet with a proper visor should also be taken into account.

Riding in monsoon is not a cake walk. There are many precautionary measures to be taken care of. A rider should maintain sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead of him or her while riding. This helps to avoid accidents at a higher rate. Thus it is advised to ride at a low speed during rains. Slippery roads are also another major reason for accidents. The first shower contributes the most to a reason for the accident, thus one should ride after a couple of hours of the first shower. Rains also bring along the foggy weather. Such conditions are often found on cliffs. To avoid the mishaps of heavy fog one must keep their headlights on and continue the ride. This helps the rider as well as other vehicle drivers for better visibility and road judgment.

  • RIDING IN WINTERS

A good long drive on a chilly night is every rider’s first preference. Long rides during winter nights are always preferable and the most soothing ones. Thought it seems a preferable and often opted option, but it also has its own disadvantages. Wearing proper winter gear on a chilly day is vital. Layering clothes protect one from the chilly and windy waves but also cool sleek and fashionable. Layering clothes ensure that a rider is completely protected from the outer environment. A rider should maintain sufficient distance from the vehicle riding ahead. The foggy weather blocks a clear vision of the rider during winters, which leads to most of the accidents. Thus to avoid such situations one must keep on the headlights as well as fog lamps. It helps a rider for better vision and also gives other riders an indication of your presence.

Winters also are the major reason to seize your bike down many times. So one should get his or her bike properly serviced before a long ride to avoid an unwished breakdown of your machine. To maintain a proper body temperature a rider must eat adequately. This helps to generate heat in the body which keeps you warm and motivated for the journey ahead.

May it be any season, a rider never stops to explore more and more new destinations and make more and more memories.
