Introduction of Ducati XDiavel

The Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has had a relationship with matt black for over twenty years since the Monster 600 Dark launched in 1998. The Italian manufacturer got traction with its super-cruisers, including the vast muscular appearance. In 2016, the Ducati XDiavel got into the market, and it was Ducati’s first belt-driven motorcycle.

The next-generation cruiser, Ducati XDiavel 2023, now comes with three new mesmerising variants, including advanced technology, lavish features, and a muscular appearance with safety. The previous XDiavel offered Black star and Dark variants, but now it gets modified with Nero, S variant, and Dark.

The street fighter achieves mass attention through its naked body and glossy look.

Highlights of Ducati XDiavel

Design of the Ducati XDiavel

The Ducati XDiavel delivers a royal look with its heavy muscular vast body. The bike conveys supremacy to the rider with a large fuel tank and a bigger front section. The cruiser gets contrasted with its large front and slimmer rear portion.

The Ducati logo sparkles on the fuel tank, and the tank is divided with a shiny and matte finish. The colour combination differs with its three different variants.

The XDiavel Nero stands at the top with its five saddle colours, including Siam, Steel Blue, Cemento, India, and Selva. The all-over profile of the new Ducati XDiavel passes a heavyweight appeal and ensures the rule over the road with its high powerplant.

The cruiser’s curvy seat is suitable for taller and shorter riders. The wide handlebar gets continuity with its two side mirrors and provides a comfortable grip over a bumpy surface. The sizeable angular headlight and a decent glossy fender finish the front arrangements.

The streetfighter ensures a comfortable sitting position through a textured seat and good-grip footpegs. Moreover, the glossy alloy wheels and big massy tires enhance the cruiser’s supremacy.

Engine of the Ducati XDiavel

The Ducati XDiavel’s Testastretta DVT engine works like its heart providing class-leading performance. The muscular cruiser gets powered by a 1262 cc Testastretta DVT, V2 – 90°, four valves per cylinder Dual Spark, and liquid-cooled engine, which comes with Desmodromic Variable Timing.

The large 1,262 cc engine delivers supreme powerplant to rock over the street full of fun. The Testastretta DVT engine has a maximum power of 160 bhp@ 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 127 Nm@ 5,000 rpm. The bore of 106 mm and the stroke of 71.5 mm denote that the oversquare engine is ready to produce high power with the fast cycle of the piston.

As per Ducati, approximately 80% of the maximum torque of the XDiavel gets delivered at 2,100 rpm. It clears that a rider can pick up speed without shifting down a gear; rather, it needs a slight throttle opening.

The Desmodromic Variable Timing helps get a prompt and smooth response at low revs and generous torque throughout the curve. Also, the technology provides sports performance when the throttle is fully opened.

Features of Ducati XDiavel

The bike’s overall chassis, with its low seat height and the forward position of the foot pegs, ensure a comfortable riding position for the rider even at the lower speed. Also, the bike provides ease during a fun ride at a higher speed. The high-quality steel tube trellis frame with the suspension system and the chassis design allows agility and helps in getting easy to move or steer in motion.

Moreover, the Ducati Power Launch is another remarkable cruiser feature that guarantees fast and safe starts, thanks to the Bosch IMU, which regulates the gas. Alongside, the streetfighter includes the Ride-by-Wire system. It is an electronic interface between the engine and the XDiavel S fuel grip. The system helps organise the ideal power level in a particular form depending on the selected Riding Mode.

The XDiavel has a dominant front headlight that offers Daytime Running Light, and the DRL ensures perfect bike visibility during the day.

Furthermore, the XDiavel gets Pirelli Diablo Rosso III and Light alloy, forged and machined wheels. The street fighter features a big 18-litre fuel tank and consumes 5.5-litre fuel per 100km way, which means the cruiser may provide a mileage of nearly 18 kmpl.

The two-wheeler includes a 3.5″ TFT colour display and a dedicated warning light display. Being a safety provider, the XDiavel offers the features like Riding Modes, Power Modes, Ducati Traction Control, Full-LED lighting system, Daytime Running Light, etc. Also, it comes with cruise control, Backlit handlebar switches, Ducati Multimedia System, Forged rims, etc.

Moreover, the company offers additional equipment for the rider’s comfort, such as an Indoor motorcycle cover, Backrest, Pelle Frau leather passenger comfort seat, Document holder, and Key holder.

Transmission, Suspension, and Brakes of Ducati XDiavel

The Ducati XDiavel gets built with belt drive and offers a 6-speed gearbox. The cruiser uses the most cost-effective and simple drive. Belt drive can protect the engine from overloading and also work on absorbing shock and vibration. Due to the belt drive transmission, the XDiavel is not louder, but smoother in the way. Furthermore, the streetfighter includes a Slipper and self-servo wet multi-plate clutch with a hydraulic control clutch.

The front suspension duty of the Ducati XDiavel is up to an Adjustable 50 mm USD fork with DLC treatment. The USD ensures more rigidity, reduced sprung and un-sprung mass, and better stability and position for brake calliper mounting. In contrast, the DLC quoting supports rigidity and durability.

The bike offers a preload and rebounds adjustable monoshock, the single-sided remote reservoir at the rear. It also absorbs the bigger and smaller bump to provide a smooth riding experience. The suspension travel at the front and rear is 120 and 110 mm, respectively.

The cruiser gets disc brakes on both ends. The front wheel of the Ducati XDiavel can come to a halt with 2 x 320 mm semi-floating discs. The disc offers radial-mounted Brembo monobloc 4-piston M50 callipers. It gets a PR16/19 radial master cylinder and Cornering ABS. On the other hand, the rear wheel gets anchored through a 265 mm disc, Brembo 2-piston floating calliper, and Cornering ABS.
