Hero Electric Atria, a low-speed electric scooter from the stable of India’s leading electric two-wheelers manufacturer, rolled out in 2021. The stylish angular exteriors and sharp features make Atria look like a scooter of the future.
Hero Electric has listed Atria under the Comfort Speed (LX) variant, which comprises those electric scooters with a top speed of up to 25kmph. The scooter is available in only one variant that is the Atria LX M11a.
The scooter does not feature a power on button and can get started with the key. The vehicle’s power output gets rated at less than 250 watts, which is 0.33bhp.
The battery takes five hours to get fully charged and can cover a 70 km distance after that.
Atria LX is perfect for those who want a low-power and low-speed scooter, which is eco-friendly and best suited for short-distance commuting.
The electric scooter gets manufactured in Hero Electric’s manufacturing facility in Ludhiana, Punjab. The scooter is available in showrooms and authorised dealerships of the automotive manufacturer.
Some of the new features of the electric scooter include:
It does not have a start button, and its key powers it on.
It comes with a cruise control system and a speed lock to maintain the speed automatically.
It has a USB port that can charge mobiles and other electronic devices while on the move.
The cutting-edge exteriors of the electric scooter give it a lean and edgy look. The sleek body makes it look relatively modern and revolutionary. It entails striking features to catch the eyeballs of passersby.
Atria LX gets fitted with three LEDs (light-emitting diodes) headlamps just above its front mudguard. Between the handles, two boomerang-shaped lamps metaphorically glow like Batman’s eyes in the dark.
High-grade fibre plastic gets used to make the body, and the build of Atria LX is similar to that of the Honda Dio gas-powered scooter.
The design of the electric scooter is suitable for people of all age groups and all gender types.
A plastic compartment gets fitted at the front side to hold small things, and the space between it and the front seat provides enough legroom for a person of average height and weight to sit and ride comfortably.
A USB port gets fitted above the compartment that allows riders to charge their mobiles and handheld devices.
A charging point below the front seat enables riders to charge the scooter at a charging station or outdoor location. Alternatively, the battery can be detached from the scooter and taken home and office for power replenishment.
The BLDC motor sits right under the rear suspension and the battery pack under the front seat.
The boot, which accommodates the battery, also gets adequate space to fit a half-helmet and small things such as a small bag, purse, charger, and more.
The dashboard gives the scooter an attractive look and shows the battery percentage, speed, and odometer. Buttons for indicators, headlamps, horn and speed modes are fitted just beside both the handles.
The main headlamps, which get just above the front mudguard, are fitted with LEDs and polycarbonate films that render brilliant light in the dark. The boomerang-shaped lights are also equipped with LEDs and serve as daytime running lights.
he Atria LX is available in one variant and two colours:
The scooter gets available in only one variant: Atria LX
Though a low-speed scooter, Atria LX gives a great riding experience because of its long battery life and cruise control, allowing riders to set a speed limit and enjoy travel and sights.
The scooter gets fitted with telescopic suspension in both front and rear. So, it absorbs the shocks while riding on uneven roads such as speed breakers and potholes.
The USB port at the front enables rider(s) to charge their phone or other electronic devices on the move. This system is not available in many two-wheeler vehicles, which creates problems for riders when their phone battery runs out of charge, and they have to stop somewhere to charge it.
The scooter’s dashboard, which shows all the key stats, could have been a bit clearer to give a sharper view while riding under the sun.
The walk assist system makes it easier for riders to push the vehicle if the battery power is low or runs out of charge.
Within a 75 to 80 km range, the chances are low that the battery will get discharged. Yet, if it happens, the scooter can spare the rider in such a situation without any hassles.
Like most electric scooters, the leg space and seat length of Atria LX provide great comfort to riders with average height and weight. But it can be a little inconvenient for tall (whose height is over six feet) and obese people.
