Honda Activa 125 is a 125cc scooter from the factory of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India. Launched in April 2014, it is the worthy successor of Honda’s best-selling scooter—the Honda Activa. Powered by a more powerful 125 cc (7.6 cu in) engine, the company sells the upgraded model of Activa along with the traditional Honda Activa.

In February 2017, Honda overhauled the complete style of the scooter and launched it in a new avatar, dubbing it the ‘Frontastic’ Activa 125. It upgraded the scooter to comply with Automatic Headlights On, which the Ministry of Road and Transportation initiated from April 1, 2017. The two-wheeler also adhered to one more regulation that was the BS4 emission norms.
As the Indian Government required all vehicles to comply with the BS6 emission norms from April 1, 2020, the automaker launched the BS6 version of the scooter much earlier. The two-wheeler is now available in three variants. Activa 125 price starts from Rs. 75,636 and goes up to Rs. 82,809 (ex-showroom Mumbai).
Powering the Honda Activa 125 is a BS6-compliant 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine that comes mated to an automatic CVT transmission. The motor can generate a maximum power of 8.18bhp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.3Nm at 5,000rpm. Honda has updated the engine to adhere to the latest BS-6 emission norms.
The BS-4 model got powered by a 124.9cc single-cylinder air-cooled carburetted engine that generated a maximum power of 8.63PS at 6500rpm and maximum torque of 10.54Nm at 5000rpm. The BS-6 model churns out 0.34PS less power and 0.24Nm less torque. The bore stroke of the BS-6 model is 50mm x 63.1mm, while that of the BS-4 model is 52.4mm x 57.9mm.
The fuel efficiency of the Honda Activa 125 is 50 km/l. The two-wheeler can attain a top speed of 92 km/h and sprint from rest to 60 km/h in nearly 8.7 seconds.
The engine features an ACG starter and leverages tumble flow technology and Enhanced Smart Power. The company claims that the BS-6 Activa 125 mileage is 13 per cent more mileage than the BS-4 model.
The scooter gets 130mm drum brakes at both the front and rear wheels in the first two variants in braking hardware. The top-end variant gets a 190mm disc brake at the front wheel.
