Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is all set to launch a bike in the first half of August. The bike which will be launched is not clear. The company currently has two engines in this displacement class – 162.7cc and 184.4cc. The former powers the Honda Unicorn 160, while the latter is used on the CB Hornet 2.0. But from sources it seems it will be a 160cc bike, lined up against the TVS Apache RTR 160V. The upcoming bike will have a 162cc oil cooled engine inspired by the unicorn, which has been the best seller bike for honda. The design will be sharper, stylish and the engine will have more power and high in performance as compared to the unicorn current output of 12.92PS and 14Nm. The new Honda motorcycle will likely get a telescopic fork and monoshock setup, with a disc brake at the front and the option to choose between a disc or a drum brake at the rear. And though it may sport 17-inch alloys, it is worth noting that they may be fitted with bias-ply tyres, and not radial units.
For the Pricing, the current Unicorn is priced at Rs 1.09 lakhs Ex Showroom, we can expect the new bike to be priced a bit higher, with new styling, new electronics and new features the bike may be priced anywhere between 1.10 to 1.15 Lakhs.
