Honda will be launching the new SP160 this festive season, the bike will be based on same platform of Unicorn chassis and engine. The bike will have a 17 inch wheel instead of the 18th inch wheel of the Unicorn.
The SP160 will get a 162.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the OBD2 compliant Unicorn. This engine is capable of delivering 12.9 HP at 7500 RPM and 14 Nm torque at 5500 RPM. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The difference between the SP160 and Unicorn is the small tank of SP which will be 12 liters has compared to unicorn which is 13 liters, similarly its 2kgs heavier then the Unicorn at 144kgs.
The SP160 will come with 2 variants, one Disc and other Drum variants, the customers can choose between a 220 mm disc or 130 mm drum brake for the rear wheel. The front is expected to have 276mm disc brake. The current price of Unicorn is Rs 1.09 lakhs exshowroom. The SP160 will be priced in the same price range.
