Indian Springfield Dark Horse: A Torquey Vintage Cruiser with Total Comfort

The bikes from Indian always continue with their old-school vintage look. The Indian Springfield Dark Horse is not an exception. The two-wheeler centralises all the traction through its vintage appeal.

The new Indian Springfield Dark Horse captures all the attention with the details in the paint. The overall premium matte and gloss black finishes deliver a bold statement. The touring cruiser gets new mid-rise handlebars, enhancing the bike’s style and a relaxed reach that feels great on the road.

The cruiser is quite large, but when the rider gets comfortable riding, the road and the mass traction would only be to the rider. The new Springfield Dark Horse provides a lengthy profile with its long rider and passenger seat. The fuel tank is even made in a protracted manner with a slimmer tone.

The fuel tank sparkles with the Indian official logo, and an old-school-looking meter enhance the vintage appeal of the cruiser. Most interestingly, the engine section of the two-wheeler indicates its higher ability through the symbol of the company’s beginning year, 1901.

The bike’s frontier appearance gets handled by a round old-styled headlight with two turn signal lamps. Although, the front fender with a rising head of a small metal logo of Indian delivers a more royal view.

Coming to the trail portion, as the Springfield Dark Horse follows an old-school appearance, the bike’s rear looks similar to an old-styled scooter.

But the rear section perfectly handles the contrast of the overall bike’s look, which a vintage vehicle needs the most. Additionally, the exhaust of the cruiser got planted and organised to provide a perfect finish.

The new Indian Springfield Dark Horse gets its torquey profile with an 1890 cc air-cooled Thunderstroke engine. The engine with a 103.2 mm bore and 113 mm stroke generates a peak torque of 171 Nm @3000 rpm and satisfying power at low RPM. The under-square engine includes a longer stroke than the bore, putting out more torque than power. It means the bike is more capable of carrying heavy weight.

Furthermore, the rear cylinder offers automatic deactivation. The feature helps in shutting down the rear cylinder when the bike stops. The part provides more comfort in slow-moving traffic when the bike needs to be anchored. When the rider hits the throttle, the rear cylinder gets activated with full power.

The Indian Springfield Dark Horse includes slammed remote-locking hard saddlebags. The saddlebag ensures secure storage and also supports the old-style vintage profile. Notably, the bike is inspired by the look of custom bikes.

The touring two-wheeler includes advanced features like tire pressure monitoring, cruise control, and keyless ignition. Further, the bike features three riding modes: Tour, Standard, and Sport.

The torque bike offers Multi-Plate Wet Clutch that supports lubrication during higher friction in high-torque situations. Moreover, the 344 Kg bike has a 20.8-litre fuel tank and is suitable for shorter and taller riders with its 650 mm seat.

Alongside, the cruiser also offers the features like a GaugesTank-mounted electronic speedometer with an odometer; digital tachometer, dual trip meters, gear position display; real-time clock, heated grip level, LED console, and more.

The Indian Springfield Dark Horse get supported by a 6-speed manual gear with Wet Clutch that supports it during higher torque conditions. The bike’s clutch system gets lubricated and reduces friction.

A front telescopic fork performs the suspension duties, giving 119 mm suspension travel. The suspension at the rear is done by a single rear shock w/ air adjust, providing suspension travel of 114 mm. This suspension setup absorbs all the hits and enhances rideability with smooth movement.

Additionally, the front wheel of the touring cruiser can come to a halt by a 300 mm Dual Floating Rotor with a 4 Piston Caliper. On the other hand, the rear wheel can get anchored through a 300 mm single floating Rotor with 2 Piston Caliper.
