2019 BMW F 850 GS Adventure Launched In India at Rs. 15.40 Lakh

One of the most inspirational brands in India today is BMW who has unwrap the much-awaited F 850 GS Adventure in India with an official launch of all-new BMW F 850 Adventure Pro motorcycle in the country. The price point of these adventure bikes is quite competitive. Priced at Rs. 15.40 lakh (India) the new long-distance touring enduro motorcycle was first unveiled at the 2018 EICMA show in Milan, Italy.

The bookings have been already commenced at all the BMW Motorrad dealerships in India.

The BMW F 850 GS Adventure features two riding modes – Rain and Road – and Automatic Stability Control (ASC) as standard. Buyers can also select optional riding modes – Dynamic and Enduro along with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), banking capable (cornering) ABS Pro and Dynamic ESA.

Powering the bike is identical 853 cc in-line parallel-twin engine that powers the common BMW F 850 GS. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. 8-valve (4-valves per cylinder), DOHC motor that makes 95 hp at 8,250 rpm and 86 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The top speed of the motorcycle is rated at 197 km/h. The motor features crankshaft journal offset of 90 degrees and a firing interval of 270/450 degrees for a unique sound. The motor is also assisted by a new self-boosting anti-hopping clutch that reduces engine drag torque and adds significant riding safety- especially in braking maneuvers while downshifting.

In terms of styling, the 2019 BMW F850 GS Adventure is now much more robust and dynamic. The new BMW Adventure is available in one variant that is pro. The F 850 GS now comes with improved ergonomics that BMW suggests is aimed towards making the bike-friendly for longer rides. Standard features include LED headlamp with LED daytime riding light, LED turn indicators, engine skid-plate low double seat, wide enduro footrests, cross-spoke wheels, tubeless tyres, cruise control, adjustable shift, and foot brake levers and center stand. In addition to this, the bike also gets adjustable brake and gear levers. The adventurer tourer comes with 43mm inverted forks up at the front and a monoshock at the rear highlighting pre-load and rebounds adjustability.

The new BMW F 850 GS Adventure is provided with all new instrument cluster design, the composed made of an analog tachometer and a multifunctional display, alongside a number of control lamps. The bike is integrated with 6.5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity support for enhanced riding experience. It comes with a seat height of 875 mm and 244kg of kerb weight.

To match its long-distance designed test endurance characteristics, BMW Motorrad has equipped the motorcycle with some heavy-duty equipment like – cross spoke wheels, 21-inch up front and a 17-inch at the rear, long-travel upside down front forks, and rear monoshock with adjustable pre-load and rebound. The bike also gets rear suspension strut with travel-dependent damping and steering stabilizer. The braking duties are handled by dual 305mm discs at the front and a single 265mm disc at the rear highlighting a dual-channel switchable ABS.
