“Replacing the CBR650F globally and booking opens with a token of Rs 15,000”
Hard to digest but true! We’ve been offered 2 middleweight models by the brand Honda this month. The title says it all, Honda Motorcycles has proudly & officially announced the introduction of its all-new 2019 Honda CBR650R. Simply can’t wait to admire this middleweight motorcycle soon to be launched in our country. Booking for this one has commenced with a token amount of Rs 15,000 in the domestic market across their 22 exclusive Wing World dealerships. The launch has replaced CBR 650F model globally as well as in India too basically capable to compete with the sports middleweight segment.
No doubt it created a sense of huge excitement when it was showcased for the first time ever in Milan last year at the EICMA Motorcycle Show. The bookings of already started and the deliveries are likely to be set in April 2019. Considering the amount of the discontinued model CBR650F which was priced at 7.42 lakhs, the new about to launch model is expected to be priced below 8 Lakhs (confirmed by the brand). This new model comes right after the launch of the Honda CB300R.
The CBR650R steals the design from its sibling CBR1000RR Fireblade. This grand new avatar of the latest models carries an aggressive riding stance. Speaking of the instrumental console, it gets a flaunting digital LCD display and a narrow dual- LED headlamp. For those who don’t really like the black metallic look much, you’ll get a better version of the black; there are two color options to choose from; Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. The results of the styling end up making it sportier than ever before.
All new 2019 CBR650R comes armed with a 649 cc liquid-cooled, four-cylinder, inline, and DOHC 16V engine. Good enough to produce a maximum power of 93 BHP at 12000 rpm and 64 Nm of peak torque at 8500rpm. The speeding of this one has updated really well including the torque, as it generates five percent power hike at the top end. Basically, this one revs 1000 rpm higher. This motor continues to be supported with a six-speed gearbox. The slipper clutch, as well as Honda Selectable Torque Control, is provided by this bike that can be easily switched of when needed.
Apart from knowing the engine & styling, let’s see what better does this new beast offer to the Indian Rider
- Handlebar moved forward by 30 mm due to the clip on being lowered, this makes the rider’s triangle more aggressive.
- Apart from that, the footpegs are higher to 6 mm & 3 mm rearward with seat height standing at 810 mm.
- To add more value to your riding and make it a more comfortable experience, this bike tends to feature a gear position indicator including shift up indicator.
- Honda never fails to add safety as well as technological advancement in their latest bikes and so you can expect more technological enhancement with this new CBR650R.
- It gets a slipper clutch, HSTC which is Honda Selectable Torque Control, new and easily adjustable fork functions (USD fork) as well as for a much-improved balance this one features single-piston rear caliper.
- Digital LCD display, full LED lighting, narrow dual headlamp, and Dual channel ABS are few things which are my favorite amongst all.
What Makes It Special?
The best part about this one is it has overall New CBR has better aerodynamics, in short, this helps the bike’s fuel efficiency, as well as the top speed, boasting well and higher. With the larger instrumental console being inbuilt in the New model, it provides rider easily generating the necessary information.
For experiencing impressive handling, steel diamond frame gets much better in holding the bike the most efficient manner. For the front you get a twin 310 mm discs shine while talking about the rear wheel you get 240 mm disc. The safety of the rider is well maintained with a dual-channel ABS that can prevent the wheels for locking while hard braking. One major change that you’ll notice in this one is that CBR650R is well equipped with Showa Upside Down (USD) fork at the front.
Honda also gets a traction control system, the design, styling, engine and its performance are expected to achieve the level of expectation the Indian bikers has with the brand. Being 6 kgs lighter you can expect the power of this bike to comparative increase by giving the rider a smooth ride like experience.
Thoughts on the 2019 CBR 650R:
Honda makes sure that they are now more committed to enhancing the riding position as well as the experience of the riders. So with the launch of this new one, they will fulfill the high expectation of the riders by providing a beast that does give all bikers an experience like never before. The rider position is something everyone expects to be comfortable. The new Honda model will be committed to bettering the riding position.
While the mileage & the top speed is still not official declared, but Honda has promised earlier that their newly launched model will possibly be capable to deliver a mileage of around 20kmpl. Which is simply not bad, they are definitely trying their level best to make this one a great success including the launched model CB300R.
The Honda CBR 650R is expected to be introduced in the Indian market anytime soon, pricing of this middleweight model is kept considering all the additional elements and features they have had made in the new one.
