Benelli is ready to expand its portfolio in India
Benelli is all set to enter the Indian market yet again by adding an interesting new introduction to the new scrambling style offers. The bike is called the Leoncino 500. This one will be the 2nd new motorcycle launch for this year after the Benelli TRK 502. This article will help you’ll to know what to expect from this Italian machine.
What to expect?
The Benelli Leoncino 500 is a retro-styled scrambler offering and is undoubtedly the prettiest one in the Benelli’s portfolio. While the TRK is a full-fledge ADV-sized bike, the Leoncino is a more compact retro-styled offering. It’s more suited to urban riding and small tours. The round headlamp comes with LED lights accompanied; Furthermore, turn indicators and tail lamp also incorporate LED lighting. With this, all the necessary information is displayed on a fully digital LCD instrument cluster.
This scrambler styled motorcycle features the same engine as the TRK adventure tourers. The bike gets a 500cc DOHC parallel-twin liquid-cooled, engine which is capable to produces 47.5bhp of peak power and 46Nm of torque. Along with that, the engine is mated to a Six-Speed transmission. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard.
The standard version of the bike rides on 17-inch wheels shod with Pirelli tires. The front is equipped with 50mm upside-down forks with 125mm of travel and a mono-shock with 112mm of travel at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 320mm dual discs up front and a 260mm single disc at the rear. The bike weighs 185kg dry, the motorcycle gets a 12.7-liter fuel tank.

For optimal braking performance, the Benelli Leoncino 500 is equipped with a 320-mm dual disc configuration at the front and a single 260-mm disc at the rear. The bike also receives a dual-channel ABS system for better handling of the road.
In addition, it features a 50mm (USD) front fork suspension and a monoblock unit at the rear to support suspension work.
While the Leoncino has been introduced in three variants – the standard version, Trail and Sport – India should initially receive only the standard variant. However, Benelli said they would consider introducing the Trail variant into our market as well, based on market feedback. On the international level, the prices of Benelli Leoncino 500 and Benelli TRK 502 are close to each other. Since the Leoncino will sit at the entry point of the Benelli 500cc range in India. Expect the price of the Benelli Leoncino 500 to be around 4.50 lakh
