Along with the Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T, Hero Moto Corp has come up with a fully faired version of the Hero Xtreme 200R which finally has been launched in India named as the Hero Xtreme 200S. Though it may seem to appear as a sporty looking one it is not a sport motorcycle, this bike is wholly and solely targeted for riders longing for daily city ride in comfort.
The features, power train, and underpinnings are somewhat similar to the Xtreme 200R. Overall this model gets its inspiration from the 200R. Talking about the color options that you can pick as per your choice, the motorcycle comes available only in 3 colors: Red, brown as well as black. Also, the motorcycle comes just in the Carb variant and the FI version is not yet available. The Hero Xtreme 200S is said to be the most faired 200cc motorcycle on sale in India.
Let’s talk first about the most important details of the bike which is the engine power. The bike comes powered by the same 199.6cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, 2-valve, single-cylinder engine that belts out 18.4 PS at 8000 RPM and 17.1 Nm at 6500 RPM. Furthermore, we get to see the transmission is via a five-speed unit along with that the engine is a conventional & carbureted. One thing that we consider as a drawback here is, exactly like the 200R, the Xtreme 200S isn’t available with fuel injection.
The motorcycle has got an extremely amazing feature and updates that is surely going to grab the attention of a lot of riders. The bike comes equipped with a single-channel ABS setup which is much needed when it comes to safety while riding. Along with fully digital instrument cluster, modern LED headlamp and LED tail light that shapes the look of the motorcycle to be sporty, stylish and classy. The instrumental cluster is borrowed by the Xpulse 200 so it is a Bluetooth-enabled one. Talking in detail about the instrument cluster, it displays information like navigation, gear position and more. The bike gets a wide single-piece seat features & split-type grab rails.
Let’s talk about the brakes as well as the suspension duties that we can expect from this motorcycle. For the brake, it gets the same 276mm front and 220mm rear disc, moving on with the suspension duties, it is in control with 37mm telescopic forks up front and a 7-step preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear, and the diamond type frame. While the fuel tank capacity of the Xtreme 200S is 12.5lts and the bike weights 149kgs.
The bike is priced at Rs 98,500, probably attractive pricing kept for a faired 200cc motorcycle. This means that the bike is 7,600 more expensive than the Xtreme 200R. Still, is it considered to be well-kept pricing for the motorcycle that has amazing features and great performance as well.
Based on the engine, performance and the pricing the Hero Xtreme 200S competes with the model like Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Bajaj Pulsar 220F.
Hero MotoCorp has really nailed the pricing of this motorcycle, for an extra 7600, the motorcycle is pretty much decent with a nice design and modern updates. What do you think?
