The newly launched Yamaha MT15 has genuinely broadened our jaws for a good reason. This bike seems to directly rival the KTM Duke 125. Though both the bikes are extremely amazing based on the features they have and the performance they generate. But considering the fairly expensive pricing kept for the Yamaha motorcycle, there raised a question? Is it better to buy the KTM Duke Instead? Yamaha Model MT-15 is inspired by the MT09 model, whereas the Duke 125 is inspired by Duke 200. So, now, as the MT-15 comes into play, it fit as a perfect competitor for Duke 125. First thing first, talking about the engine MT15 Yamaha gets is a 155cc single-cylinder SOHC 4-valve liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA). This helps the motor to generate a maximum power of 19.3PS & 14.7Nm of max torque.
The engine comes armed with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. On the other hand, KTM Duke gets 124.7cc single cylinder 4 valves, liquid cooled engine, producing about 15HP of peak power and 12 Nm of torque. Yamaha Model MT15 is inspired by the MT09 model, whereas the Duke 125 is inspired by Duke 200. Further Duke gets 4 piston calipers while MT15 gets 2 piston calipers. Both the bike features instrument console, Duke displays the clock while the MTt15 doesn’t. Both the bike gets a single channel ABS, but duke features RLP support as well. MT15 weight 138 kgs, while duke weighs 148 kg slightly heavy. Comparing the weight of the motorcycle, MT15 is slightly less heavy, powerful and smooth.

The 2019 KTM 125 Duke Price starts from Rs. 1.25 Lakhs and 2019 Yamaha MT 15 Price starts from Rs. 1.36 Lakhs. Duke 125 is still cheaper than the MT-15.
If you are looking out for extreme power and performance MT15 is the powerful one and weight is comparatively less heavy. But if budget is an issue and you want good performance pocket-friendly motorcycle Duke would be better.
